REGISTRATION FOR THE SACRAMENTS OF RECONCILIATION AND FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2026/2027

Our period of preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion will begin in September/October 2026. If you would like your child to celebrate these sacraments in 2027, we invite you to attend a Parents/Guardians Information Meeting: Tuesday 6 October at 7PM in St John the Baptist Church
We are now enrolling children for First Holy Communion and Confirmation. If you would like your child to celebrate one of these Sacraments in the parishes of Clontarf and Dollymount in 2027 please fill in the enrolment form below:

First Communion Registration will close on Sunday 18th October 2026.
At your child’s Baptism, you took on the responsibility of sharing and nurturing your child’s Christian faith. As a parish community, we look forward to journeying with you and your child through this next stage of their Christian initiation.

What is the Sacrament of Eucharist?
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26-28).
The Holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation. Those who have been raised to the dignity of the royal priesthood by Baptism and configured more deeply to Christ by Confirmation participate with the whole community in the Lord’s own sacrifice by means of the Eucharist. (Catechism of the Catholic Church, article 1322)
1. Celebration of the Eucharist in our Parish
The Eucharist is celebrated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10.00 am. On Friday 10am, a Liturgy of the Word and Holy Communion is celebrated.
Mass of the Sunday is celebrated at 10.00 am and 12.00 pm.
2. First Holy Communion Arrangements
The preparation for First Holy Communion is a shared journey between the school, the home and the parish. Through this programme, children and their families are invited to grow in faith, deepen their understanding of the Eucharist and experience the joy of belonging to the Christian community.
