Confirmation Programme

School – Home – Parish

Congratulations! Your child will soon receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Through Confirmation, they will be strengthened and enriched with the gifts of the Holy Spirit to live and witness to their faith. The preparation for Confirmation is a shared journey between the school, the home and the parish. Through this programme, children and their families are invited to grow in faith and experience the joy of belonging to the Christian community. We look forward to accompanying your child and your family as you prepare for this joyful celebration!

  1. HOME

Families are the primary educators of their children and play an important role in preparing them to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The home provides an opportunity to make space for faith, prayer and reflection in everyday family life.

  • Home Preparation Programme
An engaging and exciting resource designed for children and parents to experience together. Through a combination of audio storytelling, discussion and prayer, families will be invited to share a short, enjoyable moment together while reflecting on their faith and preparing to receive Confirmation.
  • Prayathon
A simple family novena in the days leading up to Confirmation, giving families an opportunity to pray together for the children and for the celebration ahead.

  1. PARISH
  • Preparatory Masses in the Parish – Four special Masses throughout the year as part of the children’s preparation for Confirmation.
  • Confirmation Parent Group – A voluntary opportunity for parents to become involved in the preparation of their children’s sacramental journey. The group will help with the preparation of special Masses and provide an opportunity for parents to come together as part of the parish community. Meets 4 times, the week before each preparatory Mass, in the evening.
  • Prayer Meeting for Parents and Grandparents – An evening for parents and one for grandparents to pray for the children preparing to receive sacraments in the parish and for their families.
  • Parish Catechesis: Catechesis for children who do not attend Catholic schools, and for those who would like to avail of additional preparation.
  • Celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation
The children will be invited to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation as part of their preparation to receive Confirmation. Parents are welcome.
  • Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation
The celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation will take place in the parishes of St Gabriel’s and St Anthony’s. Families are warmly invited to join in this joyful celebration.
