Lectio Divina Prayer Group

Read—Meditate—Pray—Contemplate

Lectio Divina means ‘Sacred Reading’. It is a way of praying the Scriptures that has been a fruitful source of growing in relationship with Christ for many centuries, and in our own day is being rediscovered by many individuals and groups.

A group of parishioners come together for an hour each week to read and reflect prayerfully together on the Gospel Reading for the following Sunday. The hour is primarily a time of silent reflection with opportunities for some sharing based on the readings.

The group meet on Thursday’s from 7.30 to 8.30 pm on zoom. Contact the Parish Office for details.

Episode 12 of Pareach, the Parish podcast, discusses what the Lectio Divina Prayer Group is about, as one of its members walks us through the format of the prayer evening, and how this group helps him to pray.

If you would like more information on this group, please contact the Parish Office.
